Hi, I’m Amanda Abreu.
I write Mental Clarity Guide, a site about memory, focus and mental clarity for people who work or study.
I am not a doctor or a health professional. I am someone who spent a long time struggling to focus and to learn, and who went looking for answers.
My story
For a long time, I could not keep my concentration while studying, and what I studied did not seem to stay with me. Three years ago, I decided to look for a real explanation and went to a neuropsychologist. That evaluation ended with a diagnosis: ADHD.
The diagnosis did not solve everything overnight, and I will not pretend it did. What it gave me was an explanation, and the motivation to understand how attention and memory actually work.
Why this site exists
When I went looking for information, I found two kinds of content: research papers that were hard to read, and articles full of promises with no sources. Mental Clarity Guide sits in between. I read the research, translate it into plain language, and link every source so you can check it yourself.
How I write and review each guide
- Every number and study result links to its original source.
- If a study was small, done in a different group of people, or did not replicate, I say so.
- No guide promises to cure or treat anything. Habits can support focus and clarity; they do not replace professional care.
- Every guide includes a section on when to talk to your doctor.
- Each guide shows the date it was published and last reviewed.
An honest note on ADHD and health
I share my experience because it is why I care about this topic, not because my experience applies to you. If you recognize yourself in what I write, please talk to a qualified professional. Read the full medical disclaimer.
